When should I schedule my Christmas Light install?
Due to our short season, the sooner you schedule the better chance you’ll have to get your lights installed on a date that you prefer. Installations begin in early October and end in late December. Text us or fill out the form for early season discounts.
Do you offer in season maintenance?
Yes
Do you offer take down services?
Yes. Removal is included in our price. Removals generally begin January 2. No appointment is necessary for removal. We remove lights on a geographical basis to ensure a quick removal.
Can you install lights that I already have?
Yes, if the light strands are commercial grade. Otherwise, no, to ensure quality assurance.
Is there a difference between your lights and the ones I can buy at a big box store?
Yes. Our lights and components are manufactured to professional standards — This offers more customization to your house.
Do you use Incandescent or LED Bulbs?
LED. –
Many LED products are designed to last as long as 50,000 hours. This means that you may never change another light again.
What is 50,000 hours? It is 50 times the life of a typical incandescent bulb and 5 times the lifetime of an average compact fluorescent lamp. In fact, if you ran a LED for 6 hours per day every day, it would last for nearly 23 years.
Do I need to be home for install or deinstall?
No, you do not need to be home if you have paid for and approved your design.
Yes. We require at least 50% to book an installation.
Are there electrical requirements?
Sometimes. Smith’s Christmas Lightworks will not be held responsible for inadequate, faulty, or overloaded electrical sources for your lights. You may be required to provide electrical connection from inside the property or hire an electrician to ensure minimal electrical requirements.
It rained and now some of the lights are not turning on. What do I do?
The most common reason lights do not turn on is because a GFI (Ground Fault Interceptor) outlet has turned off as a safety feature, which is associated with your existing electrical wiring. Resetting a GFI outlet is easy: locate the outlet that is not working, after ensuring the lights and strands are dry, simply push the reset button back in. If it does not reset, the outlet may still be sensing moisture, or the outlet has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
